Building and maintaining good credit is as important to your small business as it is to your personal life. Whether you are applying for capital to start up your business, applying for a loan for expansion, or even securing rates for your merchant account your personal credit may come into play.
“Banks will also look at your personal credit, so maintaining a strong personal credit score is imperative. A lot of what people do in their personal life goes directly into what they do in their business life, says Allen. If they have a history of running up credit cards on a personal level, they’ll probably fall into the same habit in a business.”
